Course Description:
This webinar will address the impact of climate change, specifically sea level rise, increased precipitation, flooding, and groundwater table rise, on contaminated site assessment and remediation. As our climate changes, LSPs and other practitioners need to account for resultant environmental impacts as they plan and implement remedial solutions. The MCP includes reference to “assessing current and foreseeable future site characteristics and risk,” and the definition of “Foreseeable Period of Time” requires “considering existing site conditions and reasonably foreseeable future changes in site conditions, including anticipated impacts associated with climate change.”  LSPs and other practitioners must consider how to adapt their work to these changing conditions and build contaminated site resilience in the face of uncertainty.
