Technical Practices CommitteeThe LSPA’s Technical Practices Committee (TPC) is charged with identifying and delving into issues related to the core technical practices and competencies of LSPs and related professionals. Such issues may arise due to changes in scientific understanding, proposed regulatory changes, or emerging environmental concerns related to site assessment and cleanup. TPC also provides a collegial forum to discuss and explore technical situations that arise in everyday work. The TPC is a dynamic group of LSP and non-LSP scientists and engineers with diverse technical backgrounds, working to promote good science and exploring technical practice areas, such as:
TPC members are enthusiastic about sharing our experiences, collaborating with our peers, and improving a range of LSP practice areas. TPC develops compliance tips, newsletter articles, member meeting topics, and educational courses for the LSPA. Our monthly committee meetings include an “Ask the Expert” segment featuring a topic introduced by a member and followed by an engaging roundtable discussion. Being involved in the TPC Committee’s meetings and educational efforts complements the many benefits of LSPA membership. The TPC typically meets the second Wednesday of each month (September - July) from 8am – 10am. Please contact the chair if you would like to join TPC.
Climate Change SubcommitteeThe Climate Change subcommittee is part of the Technical Practices Group. This group holds videoconferences on an as-needed basis. Please contact one of the committee chairs to receive information on participating.
