Federal policy makers are ramping up enforcement of environmental regulations for facilities operating within proximity to Environmental Justice populations. What might you do to prepare for this new world of expanded focus on environmental justice?

Session 2:

A New Age of Air Permitting: Draft Cumulative Impact Analysis (CIA) Regulations Highlight State’s Focus on EJ as a Deciding Factor in Permitting Policy and Facility Operations

In the spring of 2023, Massachusetts will implement new air permitting regulations impacting major and non-major CPAs. The regulations, which are expected to be released for public comment by the end of 2022, are a game changer and put environmental justice considerations front and center. While the draft regulations impact major and non-major CPA’s, we expect these regulations to be a harbinger of things to come in Massachusetts.
