This is a new course. This course has been approved by the LSP Board for 2.0 hours of LSP Technical continuing education credits (#1903). To ensure you receive continuing education credit for your attendance in this webinar, please read the LSPA's guidelines here. Course Description:Public Involvement Plan (PIP) Sites under the MCP are subject to specific requirements consistent with 310 CMR 40.1400. These requirements include public meetings, notifications, addressing public comments/concerns, and other public involvement activities. Beyond meeting MCP requirements, success is measured by the environmental practitioners’ abilities to understand and communicate effectively with the public to achieve site management decisions that satisfy both their clients and the local community. This program will help LSPs better understand MCP requirements for PIP Sites and draw lessons learned from a successful PIP Site. The case study site is the former Varian facility located in Beverly, MA (RTN 3-0000485). The presenters are all currently actively involved with remedial activities at the site and one presenter is the LSP-of-Record for the site. Click here to view the course agenda.
