This presentation has been approved by the LSP Board of Registration for 1.0 (non-DEP) Regulatory credit. This is a new presentation.

Presentation Description:

On March 1, 2024, MassDEP issued Draft Guidance Chapters 1 through 5 of the Risk Characterization Guidance in support of the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), 310 CMR 40.0000.  The LSPA has assembled a team of reviewers to provide comments to MassDEP during the public comment period on this guidance. The guidance is not limited to risk characterization topics.  It also includes key information that LSPs (and other practitioners) need to know about the conceptual site model, sampling plans, activity and use limitations, sampling methods and data analysis, and Representativeness Evaluation and Data Usability Assessment (REDUA). As with all MassDEP BWSC guidance, it is important to understand what MassDEP considers to be acceptable for meeting the requirements of the MCP.

During this one-hour presentation, members of the review team will primarily summarize key information on the topics in the draft guidance and also provide some relevant commentary assembled, so far, by the LSPA team.

The three speakers will be Marie Rudiman, Senior Risk Assessor & Toxicologist, EnviroRisk Solutions; Dr. Jane Parkin Kullmann, PhD, DABT, WSP USA; and Katherine Kudzma, LSP, Director of Site Investigation & Remediation, VHB.
