LSPA Soliciting Comments on Asbestos Regulations

The Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards (DLS) has issued updated asbestos regulations; a public hearing will be held this Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10 am and written comments are due this Friday, October 23, 2020. This Notice of Public Hearing provides more detailed information. Learn More.

LSPA's Home Heating Oil Insurance Bill Receives Favorable Report
In February 2020, the LSPA-sponsored Senate Bill 594 - An Act relative to the remediation of home heating oil releases received a favorable report from the MA Legislature's Joint Committee on Financial Services. The bill is now awaiting action by the Senate Committee on Ways and Means.

The purpose of S. 594 is to mandate that insurance coverage be provided for all Massachusetts households that use fuel oil. Read the LSPA's written testimony here.
