MassDEP has revised WSC-CAM-X A, Quality Control Requirements and Performance Standards for the Analysis of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) by Liquid Chromatography/Dual Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in Support of Response Actions under the MCP, now posted at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/compendium-of-analytical-methods-cam#pfas-methods. LSPA Announces Winter 2026 Educational Program Lineup 

The LSPA is pleased to announce its Winter 2026 Educational Program lineup, featuring a series of meetings, courses, and signature events designed to support professional development and continuing education.

Programs will cover a broad range of timely and foundational topics, including glacial geology, site characterization of LNAPL/DNAPL, waste management options for LSPs, FY2025 NOAFs, organic chemistry, and we’ll host two MCP Trivia Nights for fun and networking!

LSPA Legislation on Home Heating Oil Spills

Over 500,000 Massachusetts homeowners are at risk because insurance does not cover the cost of cleaning up home heating oil spills. The LSPA is working with state legislators to require that insurers automatically provide specialized liquid fuel release coverage to all homeowners.

The LSPA has, once again, filed our bill in the House and Senate (H1302 and S813, respectively). The bill passed the Senate twice, but has not moved beyond the House Committee on Ways and Means. On June 24, 2025, the LSPA testified during the Joint Committee on Financial Services.
