The LSPA received the following email from MassDEP Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup on September 4, 2025: 

The newest installment of the Risk Characterization Guidance, Chapters 14 and 17, has been posted to the MassDEP MCP Amendments webpage.  The review/comment period for these chapters is 90 days, until December 5, 2025.

MassDEP is issuing this Draft Guidance for Disposal Site Risk Characterization (Risk Characterization Guidance), Chapters 14 & 17, for public review, at the conclusion of which it intends to consider comments received and issue a final guidance.

LSPA Members can comment in two ways:

1. Send comments to the LSPA by November 14 at [email protected]. We will then include those comments with our overall letter to MassDEP.

Additional chapters of the draft Risk Characterization Guidance will be released for public review and comment in additional phases.
