Four New CAM protocols effective October 15, 2024

The LSPA received the following email from the MassDEP Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup on Monday, July 15, 2024.

Four revised Compendium of Analytical Methods (CAM) protocols have been posted to MassDEP’s website at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/compendium-of-analytical-methods-cam and become effective October 15, 2024.

The four protocols are:

  • CAM-IIIC - Trace Metals by GFAA Spectrometry
  • CAM-VIA - Total and Physiologically Available Cyanide
  • CAM-VIB - Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI) by UV-Visible Spectrophotometry
  • CAM-IXA - Air-Phase Petroleum Hydrocarbons (APH) by GC/MS
On and after October 15, 2024, any laboratory that is certifying compliance with these protocols must comply with the updated protocols that take effect on October 15, 2024. These updated protocols may be used prior to the effective date.
